CNN —The Atlanta Falcons surprised the NFL world on Thursday, selecting quarterback Michael Penix Jr. with the No. They also expressed their excitement in having someone to help them win right now in the former Minnesota Vikings QB, while also being able to build for the future with Penix Jr. Morris said that Cousins’ reaction when he was informed that the team would be selecting Penix Jr. would remain private. CNN —Former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick penned an emotional thank you letter to the “Patriots Nation” in Sunday’s Boston Globe. “Nowhere in America are pro sports fans as passionate as in New England and for 24 years, I was blessed to feel your passion and power,” Belichick wrote. “The Patriots are the only NFL team representing SIX states but in reality, Patriots Nation knows no borders. I loved coaching here and, together, we experienced some amazing moments.”Belichick spent 24 seasons as the Patriots head coach, leaving the team in January. CNN —Coaching vacancies continue to be filled around the NFL, as the Atlanta Falcons announced on Wednesday that Raheem Morris had been hired as head coach of the organization, while the Carolina Panthers named Dave Canales as their new head coach.
